I L-O-V-E the look of marble countertops... Image via Pink Wallpaper. However, they've been known for being fussy (easily stain, etch, chip). Could there be something similar without the high maintenance aspect? My search led me to various types of white granite quartzites which are often mistaken for marble. Check them out. Demolition is under way. Here's the plan... We knocked three walls down.  I always say that projects cost more and take longer than you anticipate.  Here's why...we hadn't planned on raising the ceiling height.  However, once we knocked down the walls it started to look claustrophobic and boxy.  So down came the ceilings. Cha-ching.  

Have you ever been to HandM? They are known for having great fashions for very little money. But did you know they also have an entire department for the home? Sadly, the U.K. only carries fashions for the home. Boo. Check it.   HandM, when are you gonna bring your home fashions to the U.S.?
