This summer has been a family filled past few months. We've tried to pump the breaks and smell the roses with these boys. A tall order with the 5 of us going in different directions.
We escaped the summer heat and headed west for the beach.
The San Diego beaches were good to us. Usually when we travel we hit every theme park, attraction, historical marker...
This trip we parked ourselves on the beach and played for 5 straight days.
We dug our toes deep in the sand, built castles,
Exploring Mesa Verde.
This summer has been full of new experiences, learning and connecting through travel.
Exploring these ancient cliff dwellings has always been on my bucket list.
The Mr's family booked their annual family reunion in Durango, Colorado this year and on the itinerary was Mesa Verde.
Believe me when I say, the experience was F-A-S-C-I-N-A-T-I-N-G.
We drove to several outlook spots above the cliffs. Someone had to point out the dwellings across the ravine for us to actually see them.

Retail eye candy.
I always thought the older and more self-sufficient my boys got the more freedom I would have.
Wrong.
This summer has kicked my little fanny.
Three growing boys has kept me busier than ever.
The constant revolving door of boys in my house, running from one activity to the next, non-stop housework, non-stop pay-the-bills work...
oh, and did I mention we just took over a vintage retail shop?
No complaints...I love my life. We are blessed.
The store is on my mind 24/7.

Work, work, work, work, work, work…
The life of a picker...
Got to keep the shop stocked.
I call it work...it's really play.
Frankly, it's a bit of a selfish endeavor.
It's an excuse to shop for myself under the guise of "business".
What to keep? What to sell? The struggle is real.
Sad truth.
The shop is stuffed with treasures. Come visit us.
We are having a huge parking lot yard sale Saturday and Sunday July 9-10. We're clearing out and making space for more treasures!

Making over our bathroom with peel & stick wallpaper.
The main bathroom in our home has come a long way in the last 5 years.
When we initially walked through the house, which was a rental at the time, it looked like this...
When we got our hands on it we rearranged everything. Rip the tub out, move the vanity here, move the wall there, flip the toilet to there...
Voila!
We had ourselves a beautiful bathroom.
Or so we thought.
A year later everything under the sink and inside the vanity began to corrode and rust.

DIY Peg Board plus a giveaway for a new drill and circular saw.
Last week we showed you this DIY giant peg board we made for our basement makeover.
It has turned out to be one of the best organizational tools ever. The pegs can be removed and inserted anywhere that you need them to be.
On a scale of 1-10 (1 being easy, 10 being difficult) I would say this project is a 3.
Even my kiddos got in on the creation of this board.
Supplies you will need:
Sheet of plywood.
Ruler and pencil.
Straight edge.
3/4 round dowels.
3/4 round drill bit.
