Black cloud hangeth over me.

September 28, 2010 by Michelle Hinckley |

I’m tired.
And nauseous,very nauseous.
I can’t force one more soda cracker upon myself.
I just can’t.
But I will.
The smell of my tiny silver stud earrings is making me sick.
6 months, no more earrings.
Incubating a baby human is more work than I remember.

This man has been my hero.
Today he got ready for work then stayed home for an extra hour and played legos with N. while I worshiped the porcelain throne.
My knight with the shiny white collar.

In addition to eating crackers, try sucking on some lemons. My Dad is an OB/GYN and when I was preggo with my daughter I was nautious…very natious…lol, and he said to suck on lemons it will keep the feelings at bay. The good news is…most people I talk to say they feel sicker when they were preggo with their GIRL than with their BOY…sooooooo…maybe you’re cooking a little girl in there…:)

Sorry you are feeling poopy. That’s crazy that you can’t even stand to smell your earrings! It must be really bad. I worked at an italian restaraunt during my very first pregnancy. Even just HEARING the type of music they played made me feel sick, years later!!

I know exactly how you feel. I blogged like 3 times total when I was pregnant. It never sounded appealing to me. I am SO sorry. Are you taking zofran? It saved m life.

Oh I remember those black days and I totally get the earring smell thing. I couldn’t stand the smell of anything –including my husband. The smell I liked was eucalyptus scented bath salts which I carried around in my purse and sniffed like a junky. I had it all nine months, both times, both boys. If it’s worse with girls, I can’t imagine. I was told it’s a good thing ’cause it’s a sign you’re producing lots of pregnancy hormones.

Oh been there (not too long ago either- I’m 23 weeks pregnant today) and just remember it will pass and you will feel normal again. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh no-the worst. Totally worth it of course! I had a hard time with my twin pregnancy and my doctor prescribed me Zofran for anti-nausea. A miracle! (And safe for baby.)

Congrats! So sorry your feeling so yucky…I’m at the same stage right now and cooking has been almost too hard for me with the smells that my poor hubby has been living off of sandwiches. It is all worth it, though!

  35. Torey says

You can take Unisom (the sleep aid) for morning sickness. Start out taking 1/4 of a pill (buy the small blue non-gel ones) at night and work up to 1/2 or a whole if you don’t have any relief. My sister was given this advice from an OB. I used it with my last 2 pregnancies and felt great. Don’t know why it works but it’s safe.

I had some of the edge taken off with those motion sickness bands that are worn on the wrist. Hope that helps!
