Don’t believe it. My girlfriend took one of those and we all bought boy stuff. Then she had the ultrasound. Girl.

Michelle! I did one of these last year too. I was so excited when it said ‘Boy’! Well. Evie is definitely a girl. ๐Ÿ™‚

wow, so many false results! here’s hoping its a little girl!

  7. Leah says

    October 20, 2010 at 7:30 pm

I did this exact test, and it said BOY, well my Daughter London was born exactly 7 months later!! When I questioned the company about the difference, they explained that it was probably because I had a previous male pregnancy (my Son is 3 years older than my Daughter)! Good thing they refunded my money in it’s entirety!!!

  8. Jenn says

    October 20, 2010 at 7:32 pm

I wouldn’t trust those…I’ve heard iffy results, for sure. But if it IS a boy…CONGRATS! I am a momma to FOUR boys, and have come to love being completely outnumbered.

  9. Joi says

Boy or girl…that baby’s going to be gorgeous! : )

Ive never heard of this product but by the sounds of it Im glad I never did anyways:) Either way, heres wishing you a safe adn healthy pregnancy. How are you feeling these days? Any better than at first? When will you be able to tell by ultrasound what you’re having?

  11. Katie @ Noodle and Boof says

    October 20, 2010 at 8:04 pm

Don’t buy it. My nurse has 3 boys and took one and it said “girl”…guess what? She’s having a boy!

  12. Kristen says

    October 20, 2010 at 8:10 pm

LOL…I love it! You rock! Speaking from personal experience (4 boys right in a row…) you’ll have another boy too! haha

  13. Becky says

    October 20, 2010 at 8:23 pm

I wont believe it’s a boy until you see an ultra sound pic or the baby is born. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am still hoping for a girl for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Dawn says

    October 20, 2010 at 8:41 pm

I wouldn’t trust it…it’s like taking your wedding ring and holding it on a string above your belly. I FULLY believe you’re having a girl. I won’t be swayed otherwise…:)

  15. Jill@Barnes Yard says

    October 20, 2010 at 8:44 pm

I have 20 days left until my ultrasound and I’ve been so tempted to try this out! I just don’t want to get all excited and then have it be the “wrong” answer. Does it say how accurate the results are?

  16. Kori says

    October 20, 2010 at 8:56 pm

From someone who just had her 4th boy (no girls), congrats! And if it does happen to be a girl on ultrasound day, conrats again! ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Anonymous says

    October 20, 2010 at 9:58 pm

Does not sound very accurate. Wait for the ultrasound, if you are having one, or until the baby is here. Wishing you a happy, healthy baby and a carefree pregnancy.

I have 5 boys….I know the disappointment that comes with not having a daughter, but I also know the pride that comes from “my boys”

do you guys find out at the reg ultrasound? i’m pregnant with #3 and we have never found out.

  20. Caroline @ The Feminist Housewife says

    October 20, 2010 at 11:36 pm

I have always wanted to try this!!! Iffy or not, it seems like a “fun” game to play.

Hope you’ll update us with the official results! ; )

I have the BIG ultrasound a week from today! Can’t wait!

  21. Thehoppes says

    October 21, 2010 at 12:28 am

I paid (a sum I was embarassed to tell friends) to take the at- home blood test called pink or blue? At ten weeks pregnant my hubby and I pulled up the results on the computer. We were stunned to learn it was a boy. Results guaranteed or money back…no refund necessary, Our sweet ozzy was born 27 weeks later. Worth every penny to know! I love that you tested and blogged about it!

  22. Trace and Sarah says

    October 21, 2010 at 12:59 am

With my first we took the Intellegender at 12 weeks…said girl, bought lots of pink at our U/S learned it was a boy!

I just spent several days and nights in the children’s hospital with my boy. All I can say is I wish you a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby. That is all that matters.

  28. fijiangirl says

    October 21, 2010 at 6:31 am

I was just going to ask how accurate those tests are… but the comments basically say it sucks…. and to wait for the ultrasound!

  29. Andy says

    October 21, 2010 at 12:44 pm

There is a lawsuit going on for this test. If you have had a boy previously, it will detect the boy gene regardless. That is what the suit alleges. It will be exciting to see…

  30. Jen S says

    October 21, 2010 at 1:02 pm

I just had my ultrasound results for baby # 3. We are having boy # 3 as well – the older ones will be 2 and 4 when # 3 arrives

  32. Kim says

    October 21, 2010 at 1:39 pm

    That is too funny. ๐Ÿ˜‰
In all seriousness, though, I completely know what you mean. I have two boys and am definitely hoping that when we get around to having #3 it will be a girl. And if it’s another sweet and crazy boy I will love him to death, but dh and I have agreed that we would consider adopting a little girl who needed a good home at that point. ๐Ÿ™‚
We all have our reasons for wanting things in life, and I don’t think we should feel guilty about it. I’ve always wanted a little girl (like almost EVERY OTHER female I know!), but ever since my own mother died I really long for that close female connection.
Anyway, you know not to put any stock in that product. If you really want to know sooner than your 20wk ultrasound, and you are between 11-13wks pg, have the nuchal u/s done! We did this with #2 at 12wks and 5days and found out the sex. Just don’t let them know that is your primary motivation for doing it. ๐Ÿ™‚
Regardless, *congrats* on the precious addition to family! So exciting.

  35. Jaime says

    it does say PREDICTION…
i am hoping that you get, first a very healthy and happy baby, and second, your girl! ๐Ÿ˜€

  36. Lisa says

You are too funny. But you know boys love their mamas. I’m in Boston on business…when I left my boy wailed because he was going to miss his mama so much and my girl said “bye mom” and that was it. ๐Ÿ™‚

These things are such hoaxes! If blood tests could accurately reveal the gender, then doctors and hospitals could offer the service- but they don’t.
The premise is that they are right half of the time, and when they are wrong- only about 4% of people ask for refunds. They make bank off of peoples hopes and excitement.

Whether you have a boy or a girl, it’s bound to be as beautiful as your other two!

P.S. Current blood tests cannot show what gender your previous child/children were either. Blood tests can’t even show if you’ve had a child before. (After hcg levels are gone.)

Those have a 50% chance of being right. No better than chance, so you still have a chance!!!

Think about it, even if they “guarantee” the results, they at worst only have to refund 50% of their profit because the odds are such that even if it were totally random (which it is) they are still going to be right 50% of the time.

    s! It’s a good moneymaker for sure!

You should try the needle test. Where you hang a threaded needle and hang it over your belly. If it goes in circles you are having a girl, if it goes up and down you are having a boy. Everyone I’ve done it on has been 100% correct. I know its prob. just an old wives tale, but its fun still.

  49. Annie. says

    October 25, 2010 at 6:55 pm

Haha! That is hilarious. I just took one of those a couple weeks ago: BOY. I was hoping #2 would be a girl.

But, there is good news – I’ve heard of a ton of people who took this test and it was wrong. So don’t resign just yet!
