I swear I blinked and 2016 was over.
This past year was jam packed full of raising boys, DIY projects, stepping out of comfort zones and doing things that scared us (and still scare us).
Reading this daily quote daily motivated us to take action and go for our dreams.
In May of 2016 the Mr. and I purchased a cute little vintage and eclectic finds furniture shop from the retiring owners called The Old Flamingo.
It’s been a year full of high’s and low’s. Owning a shop was always such a romantic idea. Once it was ours, extended road construction right in front of our shop made our fantasy become less romantic, real fast. Construction finally finished last month just in time for us to benefit from the Christmas shoppers. We finished out with a bang and we’re feeling confident about where the store is going this next year.
Owning a shop means stocking a shop. When I wasn’t busy pickin’…
…you could find me working my little fingers in to the night upcycling and painting furniture. I got to experiment with new paints and techniques such as…
…just to name a few.
On the home front, our house got a new subway tile wall…
and some new whimsical wallpaper…
Our basement apartment also got some major diy love…
Lots of exciting things are on the horizon for 2017. The Universe presented a “pinch-me” type opportunity. Whether it develops in to anything or not, God only knows. Let’s just say that we are flattered beyond belief to even be considered for the possibility. Other plans…of course THIS will be the year we finally achieve those washboard abs, more painting, more pickin, more family memories, revamping the store… you know…bit by bit, row by row.
Thanks for supporting us through our dreams and endeavors…we appreciate you sticking with us SO MUCH.
