Most hotels we stay at aren’t really hotels.
Try motel or inn.
Family friendly, free breakfast in the morning, get in, get out -motels.
It’s the only time my kids are allowed to eat powdered egg substitute astro eggs, neon colored cereal, a bear claw and a chocolate donut with sprinkles for breakfast…
all in one sitting.
During my last midnight blogging session I was searching for school inspired decor (for a really awesome giveaway coming up) and I came across the most lovely, exquisite, beautiful, charming, romantic, unique (there just aren’t enough words) boutique hotel called the Washington School House Hotel
(no, not being paid to blog about them).
Feast your eyes…
Drooling, right!
The school was built in 1889 but then later renovated in to a hotel.
Each room is totally unique.
We don’t often think of good design as white walls and minimal adornment but I think showing restraint when it comes to decoration demonstrates as much talent as going nuts with pattern, texture and color.
The walls and decor are quiet and neutral allowing the eye not experience sensory overload.
Purely classic and timeless.
Just when I thought I would have to buy a plane ticket and book a reservation, to my surprise, the Washington hotel is located right in my backyard, up the mountain in Park City, UT.
Put the Washington School House on my bucket list please!
How cool, dying over that window seat
I know, isn’t it fab! ๐
Oh my! Let’s get a double suite ๐ I’ll fight you for the window seat.
Ha! I love it! It’s on. I’ll take you down for that window seat! ๐
Holy crap. I think I need to visit. I love the neutral color scheme and holy moly those tall ceilings!
YES PLEASE!!!!
I think I want to live there!
My sentiments exactly! ๐ xoxo, Michelle
Ahh this hotel is beautiful! I went to the website to scour for more pictures, and found that it was built in 1889. I know it isn’t a big deal, but thought I would let you know ๐
Ah, those midnight blogging sessions…I’ve got to start blogging at a decent hour. Thanks for catching my mistake! Happy Halloween! ๐

Isn’t it just gorgeous?! I’d love to stay there…maybe my next anniversary. Shhh, don’t tell the Mr. ๐
