I’ve been a busy little bee diy’ing tissue paper flowers for the past month for a hush, hush event coming up.
They are actually quite easy following a few easy steps.
The more paper you use, the fuller your flower will be. I’ve also used 16 1/2 x 24 tissue paper sheets that work just fine as well. If you want a smaller flower just cut your paper in half. You can also alternate different colors of paper for a multicolored look.
Basically you fold up your paper like a fan.
Doesn’t need to be very tight so all your paper is gathered…just snug to keep everything together.
This is the fun part. You can cut the ends in a dome shape or you can cut several strips for a frayed look. This is the time to experiment.
Once you’ve pulled your papers apart you can see how your flower will take shape.
There are a lot of things you can do with them. I plan on hanging them. The gals at 6th Street Design School made smaller ones and attached them to gifts. Ideas are endless.
About 25 more to go… Stay tuned to see how I use them.

They look great! I can’t wait to see how you use them.
